Tooling Technician

TOOLING TECHNICIAN
Automation Personnel Services is seeking Tooling Technicians for a foam manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, TN. Qualified is a skilled trades professionals will build, install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot the tools, dies, molds, fixtures, and production equipment used in manufacturing. Positions are full time temporary to hire. 
 
Pay Rates:
1st shift: $24.25 
2nd shift: $24.25 per hour plus $.75 shift differential
 
Shifts and Schedules
1st shift: 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday
2nd shift: 3:00pm–11:30pm Monday-Friday
 
Tooling Technician Duties and Responsibilities
  • Constructing and making aluminium tool/molds from the rough casting to a tool/mold ready for production
  • Complete work orders in ITS2
  • Complete TQR on New Tools as well as complete required forms. 
  • Make tool modifications 
  • Follow tooling PM schedule to complete preventative maintenance on tools as well as tooling completing repairs
  • Troubleshooting tool/mold defects.
  • The tool/mold maker also plans layouts and constructs jigs and other items as required.
Tooling Technician Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience: tool repairs & modifications, fabrication with aluminium and carbon steel. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Read and understand blueprints and use tape measure to 1/16th 
  • Skilled in the use of all machine shop equipment including lathe, milling machines, radial drill, aluminium and steel welding equipment and various hand tools.
  • Must be able to plan and follow the job through to completion doing all the necessary work required of the job.
  • Must be able to work with equipment required for plumbing on tool/molds.
