Loader Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
· Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks,<\/span><\/div>\n
delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using trucks, overhead cranes or other equipment.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Sort material before loading and unloading.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Attach identifying tags to materials or mark them with identifying information.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or<\/span><\/div>\n
equipment needs.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Stack material in pre-determined locations as directed.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage<\/span><\/div>\n
to items being transported.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift cargo and guide loads.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Adjust controls to guide, position, or move equipment, such as cranes, lifts and other devices.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Guide loads being lifted to prevent swinging.<\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/span><\/div>\n
Loader Qualifications and Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
· Receive information or instructions for performing work assignments.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Load materials using overhead cranes, lifts and other devices.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Operate overhead cranes to move material, equipment, and parts.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Review work orders or schedules to determine operations or procedures.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Maintain material moving equipment in good working condition.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Sort materials or objects for processing or transport.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Mark materials for identification.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Secure materials.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Package materials.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Maintain a clean work area(s).<\/span><\/div>\n
· Use fire suppression methods in industrial emergencies.<\/span><\/div>\n
· Requires working in varying climate changes (heat\/cold).<\/span><\/div>\n
