CNC Tool Grinder/ Toolmaker

Automation Personnel Services is looking for an experienced CNC Tool Grinder with a strong background in precision toolmaking for production equipment. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who understands how tools are designed, ground, and perform in a manufacturing environment.
This is a skilled toolmaking position, not mold making, not basic drill sharpening, and not entry-level work.
 
Pay Rate  
$25.00 per hour or more, depending on experience. 
 
Schedule and Hours  
Monday through Friday, overtime is mandatory
1st shift: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
2nd shift: 3:15 pm – 11:45 pm 
 
CNC Tool Grinder Duties and Responsibilities  
  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC grinders and surface grinders to manufacture and sharpen precision metal cutting tools
  • Grind and shape tooling used to machine various metals while holding tight tolerances and specifications
  • Use manual, CNC, and hand-held grinding tools to finish, hone, and polish precision tooling
  • Inspect, sharpen, and restore production tooling to extend tool life and ensure consistent performance
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections using measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support tooling needs and continuous improvement.
 
CNC Tool Grinder Qualifications and Requirements  
  • 3+ years of experience in tool grinding and/or toolmaking.
  • Experience in a production manufacturing environment or metal fabrication industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of lathe tooling and cutting tool geometry.
  • Proven ability to grind tools accurately and consistently for production use.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
