Environmental Health & Safety Manager
Automation Personnel Services is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for a reputable client company. This role is responsible for overseeing all workplace health, safety, and environmental programs while ensuring full regulatory compliance and creating a culture focused on continuous improvement and safety excellence.

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager Duties & Responsibilities
• Apply the organization’s health and safety policies at the site and ensure full compliance.
• Coordinate prevention and intervention efforts to improve health and safety conditions for employees, equipment, and facilities.
• Verify health & safety action plans, standards, tools, and methods—including internal audits and risk evaluations—and follow progress using key performance indicators.
• Propose and implement the site’s health & safety training plan in partnership with HR; lead health & safety awareness initiatives.
• Advise and assist departments on daily health & safety concerns; recommend preventive measures and ensure equipment and facility compliance.
• Organize management safety walks and participate in cross-site safety audits.
• Ensure the Site Health, Safety, and Working Conditions Committee functions effectively, including preparation, meeting leadership, and corrective-action follow-up.
• Manage prevention plans with technical services and coordinate emergency simulation exercises.
• Implement preventive systems (checklists, training, maintenance tracking) for hazardous equipment or installations.
• Maintain positive working relationships with regulatory agencies, fire department officials, and other authorities.
• Promote a safety-first workplace culture and support strong housekeeping practices in all operational and maintenance areas.
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a health, safety, or environmental discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental roles.
• HSE qualification such as an OSHA general certificate or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA/EPA/DOT regulations and air permitting requirements.
• Strong technical knowledge (chemistry, physiology, biology, etc.) to communicate effectively with operational teams.
• Working knowledge of H&S standards such as OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001.
• Ability to conduct risk analysis, emergency planning, first aid, and fire-prevention evaluations.
• Strong writing skills for certification requests, regulatory reports, and compliance documentation.
• Ability to identify workplace hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for teaching and training staff.
• Organizational and analytical skills for presenting to management and external regulators.
