FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Automation Personnel Services is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician for a family owned, custom parts manufacturer in Chattanooga, TN. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, and occasionally repairing hot mix asphalt plants and control systems.
This is a direct hire position.

Field Service Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HMA plant electrical systems, control systems, and mechanical components. Support to be provided in person, via phone, or via other means such as email.
- Provided plant operating software systems to configure and calibrate machinery.
- Operator Training: Conduct comprehensive, hands-on training for customer plant operators on safe and efficient plant operations.
- Manage field assignments autonomously from arrival to job completion with minimum direct supervision, being a self-starter who takes initiative to get things done the right way in line with customer core values.
- Partner seamlessly with internal engineering, sales, and parts departments to solve complex customer issues, participate in meetings as required, and suggest product improvements to management.
- Utilize Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and expense app to generate precise service reports, expense logs, and timecards as required. Also learn and utilize the ERP System (CETEC ERP).
Field Service Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience with hot mix asphalt plants required.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent), OR an equivalent track record of hands-on experience in hot mix asphalt plants.
- Write reports and memos as required. Execute basic math skills. Understanding of, and practice of, working safe at all times.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, three-phase power, control panels, drawings, and schematics.
- Demonstrated ability to operate Microsoft Office and rapidly learn specialized industrial software.
- Read and understand mechanical equipment drawings.
- Weld, with a stick and certain types of MIG welders, use of cutting torch, and knowledge of steel fabrication, assembly and modifications are highly desired.
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of delivering elite customer service under pressure.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to operate the company truck, and a valid passport.
