HEALTH SAFETY ENVIRONMENTAL COORDINATOR
Automation Personnel Services is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated Health Safety Environmental Coordinator to work with one of our biggest clients in Dalton, Georgia. This role owns and administers all forklift training, required HSE audits and documentation.  
 
Schedule and shift 
Must be flexible to work afternoons or evenings. 
The standard will be Monday-Friday 8:00 pm until 5:00 pm
 
Our client is currently experiencing high demand, requiring this role to work 45-50 hours per week.
 
Pay Rate
$19.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience 
 
Health Safety Environmental Coordinator Duties & Responsibilities
  • Independent HSE Audits & Inspections
    • Serve as the independent owner for required HSE audits and inspections (e.g., JJ Keller checklists, monthly/weekly/daily HSE inspections) 
    • Use supervisor walk-throughs and daily checks as inputs, but do not delegate formal audits to area supervisors to avoid self-auditing. 
    • Coordinate with the onsite manager who may conduct overall workplace audits, while maintaining HSE ownership for documentation and follow-up. 
  • Regulatory & Program Compliance
    • Support HAZMAT building and external HAZMAT areas, including signage, segregation, spill control, and emergency procedures. 
    • Support the propane/LPG program in coordination with the existing billing contact and MHE role, ensuring delivery records, inspections, and related documentation are complete and retrievable. 
    • Maintain HAZCOM compliance
    • Administer and support the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Program
  • Training, Documentation, Staffing & Onboarding
    • Maintain current personnel rosters for employees, temporary workers, and contractors to support HSE training and emergency planning
    • Track and file MHE licenses/certificates issued 
    • Coordinate and track MHE training 
    • Maintain training and PPE documentation, including PPE hazard assessments, issuance logs, and approvals. 
  • Incident & Post-Incident Support
    • Lead or coordinate incident investigations with supervisors/management for injuries, near misses, property damage, and environmental events
    • Ensure complete incident documentation, 
    • Manage post-incident compliance, tracking corrective and preventive actions through closure and reporting trends to site leadership. 
 
Health Safety Environmental Coordinator Qualifications & Requirements
  • OSHA 10-Hour General Industry (or ability to obtain within 6 months). 
  • 6 months of recent experience in HSE or safety support in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment. 
  • Familiarity with HAZCOM, LOTO, incident reporting, and basic environmental reporting. 
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency with electronic systems such as JJ Keller or similar tools. 
  • Computer and MS Office experience required. 
  • Lots of walking throughout multiple locations. 
  • Occasional lifting to 20lbs
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and clean MVR
