Machine Operator/ LTO
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Machine Operator/ LTO for a company based in Calhoun, GA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to operate industrial sewing machines to assemble and finish carpet products and operate lift trucks to move materials while supporting safe, efficient production operations. This position is full-time, temporary to hire.
 
Pay Rate 
$16.00 per hour
 
Schedule and Hours 
Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
 
Machine Operator/ LTO Duties and Responsibilities
• Operate industrial sewing machines to bind, edge, serge, or attach backing and components to carpet and flooring products according to specifications. 
• Maintain stitch quality, alignment, and production rates while inspecting products for defects and performing routine machine adjustments. 
• Safely operate lift trucks/forklifts to move carpet rolls, materials, and finished products; perform daily equipment inspections and follow all safety procedures. 
• Support production line operations by cross‑training, assisting in multiple positions, and ensuring materials and supplies are available to prevent downtime. 
• Follow all safety, PPE, housekeeping, and Lean manufacturing practices while communicating effectively with team members and supervisors.

 
Machine Operator/ LTO Qualifications and Requirements 
• High school diploma or GED preferred, prior manufacturing or industrial sewing experience helpful. 
• Ability to operate industrial sewing machines and perform basic setup, adjustments, and quality checks. 
• Forklift/lift truck experience preferred; must be able to obtain or maintain certification. 
• Ability to read and follow work orders, production instructions, and safety procedures. 
• Physically able to stand for extended periods, handle materials, and work in a fast‑paced team environment.
