Sandblaster 
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Sandblaster candidate for a company based in Cullman, AL. You will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining abrasive blasting and overhead cranes in accordance with the site’s business goals and objectives. 
 
Pay Rate  
$18 plus (based on experience) 
 
Schedule and Hours  
Sunday 11pm-7am / Monday through Thursday 9pm-7am 
 
Sandblaster Operator Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Abrades surface of metal to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, dirt, and to impart specific finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment. Shovels or pour abrasives, such as grit, or shots of specified grade into machine hopper. 
  • Masks specified areas of object to protect from abrading action. 
  • Load parts on racks in enclosed rooms. 
  • Turns valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through nozzle or into tumbling barrel. 
  • Starts equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive-laden compressed air, gas, or liquid over surface of parts. 
  • Examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications 
 
Sandblaster Operator Qualifications and Requirements  
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills 
  • Previous work-related skills, knowledge or experience 
  • Proficient communication and organizational skills 
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently or with a team 
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently
