Vegetation Technician Assistant
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Vegetation Technician Assistant to apply herbicides for controlling unwanted vegetation in various environments. This role involves outdoor fieldwork, operating spray equipment, and ensuring safe application practices. Travel is required, with crews often staying away from home for extended periods.
 
Pay Rate 
$17.00 – $19.00 per hour, based on experience 
 
Schedule and Hours 
Varies based on project needs, with frequent overnight travel. Work is weather-dependent, and rain or high winds may result in shorter days with equipment maintenance tasks.
 
Vegetation Technician Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
  • Apply herbicides using backpack sprayers, UTV-mounted nozzles, or hose systems.
  • Walk power line rights-of-way spraying brush as needed.
  • Drive UTVs through solar fields spraying turf with boomless nozzles. 
  • Navigate drainage canals while handling spray hoses.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment when weather prevents spraying.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and ensure minimal impact on sensitive customer equipment.
Vegetation Technician Assistant Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting and walking long distances.
  • Prior outdoor labor experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and stay on-site for extended periods, especially during winter.
